Being a scout troop on an overseas military base isn’t easy.  Where do you keep our troop’s history? What wall can you pin your patrol flags on? Thanks to Jim Wassenberg, Troop 156 Scoutmaster (1980), Roy Moye, Troop 156‘s first Eagle, and Todd Allen, we have a great start. If you have something to add, please let us know.

FAVORITE MEMORY DURING SCOUTING:
These were great years in my growing up. Lots of memories. The camping trips taught us outdoor skills I still use today, fun times with good friends, and tested us to go a level higher. We went on trips that would have only been possible through being in scouting on a military base. Trips that expanded our knowledge of all of Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Our adult leaders worked hard [we had to also] to make it happen. A big thank you to all.

GREATEST LESSON FROM SCOUTING:
As I look back on my years of scouting, the scout oath has been a guidepost for me. We said the scout oath and laws at the beginning of each meeting. We said them by rote, but somewhere along the way, they became ingrained in who I really am. A high standard to be held to. I have done my best in all these years [never been arrested].
